• Cartoonists are forced into self censorship by both their governments and by militant religious interests.
• Globalization has widened audiences, but it has also opened the door to militant threats against individual cartoonists.

• Advocate for cartoonists threatened with imprisonment or beatings
• Lobby with the diplomatic community for swift resolution of human rights abuses against cartoonists
• Provide training for cartoonists drawing in dangerous environments
• Highlight the unique contribution of cartoonists to the democratic process
